As zero-knowledge (ZK) technologies gradually address mainstream use cases, the community supporting disruptive technologies continues to grow. More than 1,200 ZK developers, community members and enthusiasts, including Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, attended the latest zkDay Istanbul event.
While ZK Meetup attracts between 1,500 and 4,000 attendees, enthusiasm for zkDay Istanbul has grown significantly as a platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration. The event builds on the success of zkDay Paris, which attracted early-stage ZK startups and market leaders.
ZK-centric initiatives at all stages come together to connect and interact with top members of the Manta Network, a zkDay sponsorship initiative co-hosted by Polyhedra Network and =nil; Foundation.
“The interest and participation in zkDay is a testament to the community’s interest in this space, and we are pleased to see this interest continue to grow in various countries,” said Kenny Li, chief operating officer and co-founder of Manta Network, in an interview with Cointelegraph.
Additionally, zkDay Istanbul is held in conjunction with Devconnect 2023, an event dedicated to the Ethereum community, builders, and researchers.
The zkDay Pitch competition has attracted the participation of many high-quality projects, many of which have ranked among the best in competitive events such as ETH Global. Li anticipates working with zkDay promotion sponsor ETH Global in the future to provide more exposure opportunities for upcoming promising projects.
Abner Jia, CEO of Polyhedra Network, also expressed Li’s optimism for the development of the ZK community. Jia highlighted the surge in interest in zero-knowledge technologies:
“As more projects and enthusiasts join the zk ecosystem, it’s clear that the community is on a strong growth trajectory.”
Improving the user experience remains a common goal for the entire ZK community as the project works to guide users to the next generation of consumer products. Li added:
“That’s why we’re so focused on Manta Pacific’s universal circuit, where we can offer ZK as a service so that developers can go right out of the box and launch EVM-compatible decentralized applications that leverage ZK without the need for Understanding the cryptographic elements.”
Attendees at zkDay Istanbul emphasized the strong integration of the ZK community with the core mission of Web3 developers, users and communities. Despite superficial differences in focus areas and priorities such as privacy, scalability, and real-world applications, the underlying ethos of decentralization and innovation remains consistent between the two communities.
zkDay has become a tradition @mantanetwork This time it was held in Istanbul.

The year-over-year growth of the ZK development community shows that the future of ZK technology has incredible prospects. Jia believes that collaboration remains the key for the ZK ecosystem to thrive. “We are all working towards a fair, decentralized future. Leveraging zk is just another step towards achieving that goal!” Li added.
Talking about the future of ZK, Jia also revealed Polyhedra’s newly deployed decentralized proof system on zkBridge, called deVirgo. “We are open to collaboration. Entrepreneurs who want to succeed in this space should pay close attention to our progress and implementation. It is crucial to keep up with the latest developments in zk technology, as this is a rapidly evolving field,” he concluded .
The emerging ZK community is currently exploring use cases that can be directly applied to using intuitive EVM-compliant decentralized applications to power the next generation of consumer products.
