In a report, CyberMedia Research said that in the June quarter of 2023, India’s tablet PC market shipments fell by 22% year-on-year, but increased by 29% quarter-on-quarter. Apple leads the tablet market with a slightly higher share than Samsung.

According to CMR’s tablet market report: “In the second quarter of 2023, the overall tablet market will decline by 22% year-on-year.”

According to the report, 5G tablets grew by 7% year-on-year.

“WiFi tablet shipments soared 12% year-over-year to account for 54% of shipments,” the report states.

Apple and Samsung tablet shipments both rose 6 percent during the quarter.

However, Apple leads with a market share of 25.38%, followed by Samsung with a market share of 25.31%.

“Apple maintained its lead with a market share of 25.38 percent, driven by premium products. Samsung came in second with a market share of 25.31 percent,” the report said.

Lenovo’s shipments fell by 30%, but it still ranked third with a 23% market share.

Realme’s tablet shipments more than halved, with a market share of 8%. Xiaomi tablet shipments increased by 155%, with a market share of 6%.

“As the holiday season approaches, we expect tablet purchases to surge. 5G’s superior speeds and ultra-low latency herald new prospects for tablet gaming.

“The advent of foldable devices further bridges the gap between traditional tablets and laptops, enabling increased portability and productivity,” said Menka Kumari, research analyst at industry intelligence group CyberMedia.
