Apple to Launch Magic Mouse, Trackpad, Keyboard With USB Type-C Ports in October: Mark Gurman

Recently, Apple launched the iPhone 15 series at the Wonderlust conference. The product line includes iPhone 15 basic version, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. These phones support USB Type-C port connection. Prior to the launch of this series, all Apple products came with Lightning connectors. To comply with new EU regulations, Apple ditched the dedicated port in favor of a standard USB Type-C port. Now, Mark Gurman suggests that the company will launch an Apple Magic accessory with USB Type-C connectivity.

In his Bloomberg communication, Gurman wrote that Apple will launch accessories with USB Type-C ports in October, as well as expected iMac products. According to the newsletter, the new products will include Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad and Magic Keyboard. He added that the company will also relaunch the MagSafe battery pack and MagSafe Duo charger with USB Type-C port.

Gurman added that the next-generation AirPods Max (release date is unclear) will also have a USB Type-C charging port. In order to comply with EU guidelines and maintain parity among its products, Apple is likely to modify its entire product lineup to launch products equipped with USB Type-C charging ports.

The Apple Watch Series X is expected to launch in 2024 or 2025, according to the newsletter. The company is also said to be developing an artificial intelligence health guidance service. In a similar timeline, Gurman suggested that Apple will launch a Vision Pro AR/VR headset with further upgraded features.

Gurman said the 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Pro are expected to receive improvements for the first time in five years, including OLED displays. The Magic Keyboard that comes with the tablet is also expected to come with a metal top case.

According to Gurman’s latest newsletter, the next iPhone Pro models may feature larger displays than their predecessors. MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and other Mac devices are also expected to use M3 chips.
