Lufthansa plans to soon let its passengers collect rewards in the form of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and interact with Web3. Lufthansa is launching a new loyalty program where passengers can collect reward points in the form of NFT trading cards. From business lounge coupons to free miles and frequent flyer status, these NFT trading cards from Lufthansa will unlock a host of amenities for travelers. The name of this new loyalty program has been settled on “Uptrip,” and the NFTs that are part of the program are based on the environmentally friendly Polygon blockchain.

Lufthansa will allow eligible passengers to connect their digital wallets in order to mint, transfer and trade these Uptrip NFT cards.

The NFT cards offered are divided into different categories, including city, airplane, and discounted cards.
