Google Pixel 8 Series Price, Storage Options Leaked; Pixel 8 Pro May Get Night Sight for Video

Google’s Pixel 8 series is expected to be unveiled at the company’s Made by Google event on October 4. As Google’s annual event draws closer, more leaks about the next-generation Pixel phones are popping up online. Recently, a report leaked European pricing details for the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, along with their storage configurations and color options. Past leaks have suggested that the Pixel 8 series may only be available in eSIM variants. However, new findings suggest that Google will include a physical SIM card slot on the phone. The Pixel 8 Pro is also expected to feature Night Sight video.

The Pixel 8 will reportedly be priced at EUR 874.25 (approximately Rs 78,400) for the 128GB storage variant. The 256GB storage variant is said to be priced at EUR 949.30 (approximately Rs 85,200). The vanilla version is said to be available in ecru, mint, obsidian, and rose.

On the other hand, the Pixel 8 Pro could be priced at EUR 1,235.72 (~Rs 1,10,900) for the 128GB storage model, while the 256GB storage model is said to be priced at EUR 1,309.95 (~Rs 1,17,500). The top-end 512GB model will reportedly be priced at EUR 1,461.24 (approximately Rs 1,31,100). It is said to be available in Laurel, Mint, Obsidian and Porcelain.

All price tags include 23% Value Added Tax (VAT). Excluding VAT, the Pixel 8 is priced at EUR 710.77 (approximately Rs. 63,000) for the base model and EUR 771.79 (approximately Rs. 69,000) for the high-end model. Excluding VAT, the Pro model is priced at EUR 1,004.65 (approximately Rs 90,000), EUR 1,065 (approximately Rs 95,000) and EUR 1,188 (approximately Rs 1,06,600) for the 128GB, 256GB and 512GB storage variants.

Also, 9to5Google ReportCiting sources, the Pixel 8 series will inherit the eSIM plus physical SIM slot from previous Pixel phones. This contradicts recent findings from informant Mishaal Rahman (@MishaalRahman). Like the iPhone 14 series, the Pixel 8 models are expected to ditch the physical SIM card slot in favor of an eSIM, at least in some regions.

Additionally, the Pixel 8 Pro will reportedly support video night vision. This feature will improve the quality of videos captured in low light conditions. This capability can be enhanced by the Tensor G3 SoC’s faster image signal processor (ISP) and AI capabilities.

The Pixel 8 series has been part of numerous leaks recently. Both smartphones are expected to run Android 14 and feature 120Hz refresh rate displays. They are expected to feature the Tensor G3 chip, which will serve as an upgraded version of the Tensor G2 SoC. The Pixel 8 Pro is expected to pack a 4,950mAh battery with support for 27W wired fast charging. In comparison, the Pixel 8 has a 4,485mAh battery that supports 24W wired charging and 12W wireless charging.
