Honor Magic V2 Set to Launch Globally at IFA 2023; Another Foldable Phone Set to Be Unveiled

Honor will hold a keynote at the IFA 2023 electronics trade show in Berlin on September 1, where the company will launch two foldable smartphones in selected global markets. One of these smartphones is the Honor Magic V2, which has been launched in China. However, another foldable smartphone that was launched alongside the Honor Magic V2 has been kept under wraps. Honor has not disclosed any relevant details.

Honor has to tease On Sept. 1, the smartphone company unveiled two foldable smartphones in select global markets during its IFA 2023 keynote. The smartphone company shared a teaser poster for the event on its official website. While one of the smartphones has been confirmed to be the Honor Magic V2, the other foldable smartphone has yet to be announced. It is speculated that Honor may launch a flip phone as well.

The IFA 2023 trade show will be held in Berlin, and Honor says its theme will be a combination of technology, fashion and sustainability.

One of the foldable phones likely to be showcased at IFA 2023 is the Honor Magic V2, which was launched in China last month. The smartphone is equipped with a 7.92-inch full HD+ (2,344×2,156 pixels) LTPO OLED internal display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a screen-to-body ratio of 90.4%. The foldable phone’s internal display also offers peak brightness levels of up to 1,600 nits and a pixel density of 402ppi. On the outside, the phone features a 6.43-inch full HD+ (2,376 x 1,060 pixels) LTPO display panel that offers up to 2,500 nits of peak brightness and 120Hz refresh rate.

The Honor Magic V2 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of built-in storage. It runs on Android 13-based MagicOS 7.2 out of the box. For optics, it has a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 50-megapixel ultrawide sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), and a 20-megapixel sensor with an OIS-enabled telephoto lens. The phone also has a 16-megapixel front-facing camera.
