Samsung Galaxy S23 FE Will Reportedly Feature Upgraded Selfie Camera from Flagship Models: Details

According to reports, the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE is in development and may be launched soon. A company executive recently hinted at the recently concluded Galaxy Unpacked event in Seoul that the smartphone is about to debut. While the company is yet to reveal a launch date and other details, the phone’s expected specs and design have been leaked multiple times, with a new report claiming it will feature an upgraded selfie camera. The Galaxy S23 FE was previously expected to feature a triple rear camera unit led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor. It is expected to succeed the Galaxy S21 FE launched last year.

According to a recent Report Galaxy Club (in Dutch) claims that the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE will feature the flagship front-facing camera used on the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S21 series. The phone will reportedly feature a 10-megapixel selfie camera instead of the 32-megapixel front-facing camera of its predecessor. It’s worth noting that while the new camera has a lower megapixel count, picture quality is actually improved over the S21 FE model, with support for flagship-level features like Dual Pixel autofocus when clicking selfies.

Additionally, a previous report suggested that the phone may come with a 50-megapixel primary sensor, along with a 12-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens and an 8-megapixel sensor with a telephoto lens. Galaxy Club’s report confirms claims that the phone will feature an 8-megapixel selfie camera, suggesting that it will offer similar performance to its predecessor, the Galaxy S21 FE.

Recently, purported live images surfaced online, hinting at the smartphone’s design. Leaked images show that the phone will feature a 2.5D curved display, while the back will be flat. It could feature triple rear cameras in the top left corner, housed in three vertically placed circular camera cutouts.

The phone is expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC or Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC in the North American market, and may be powered by the in-house Exynos 2200 chipset. The Galaxy S23 FE is also said to run One UI 5.1 based on Android 13 and come with up to 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 inbuilt storage. According to previous reports, it is also expected to have a 4,500mAh battery.
