SEC delays decision on spot Bitcoin ETF applications from WisdomTree, Invesco, and Valkyrie

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has postponed its decision on WisdomTree’s Bitcoin Trust, which was first filed on December 8, 2021. With the first deadline looming, the institutional giant resubmitted its ETF application on July 19, 2023.

However, WisdomTree’s Bitcoin ETF proposal did not receive SEC approval in 2021. After BlackRock joined the spot Bitcoin ETF competition, WisdomTree also reapplied for the spot application, but WisdomTree is not the only institutional giant that tried again after being rejected.
