The Sony Xperia 5 V, said to be the successor to last year’s flagship Sony Xperia 5 IV, started making waves a few days ago with its promotional video. The company has now announced the launch date of the smartphone. This will be the third smartphone from the company this year, following the launch of the Xperia 1 V and Xperia 10 V. Earlier reports suggested that the Xperia 5 V will feature a dual rear camera unit while likely powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.

Japanese tech giant release An announcement video on the X reveals the launch date of the Xperia 5 V. As mentioned above, the launch of the smartphone is scheduled to begin at 4pm local time (12:30pm IST) on September 1st. However, the company has not revealed any other specifications or details about the upcoming phone.

According to previous reports, the smartphone may come in three colors – black, blue and white. It is expected to feature a dual camera unit on the back. The Xperia 5 V’s rear camera is likely to be placed vertically on the back, alongside an LED flash.

The Xperia 5 V is rumored to have a matte finish with Sony branding on the back. It is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.

In early May this year, Sony launched the Xperia 1 V and Xperia 10 V. The launch price of the Xperia 1 V in the European market is $1,399 (approximately Rs. 1,14,700). The smartphone is available in two colors – green and black. Meanwhile, the Xperia 10 V model starts at EUR 449 (roughly Rs. 40,300) and is available in four colors: Black, Lavender, Sage Green and White.
