Entering the second week of August, OTT platforms are producing content at a high speed, and India has received the release of three major TV series. The most notable of these was the second season of “Made in Heaven,” where Sobhita Dhulipala and Arjun Mathur re-planned and officiated a series of lavish Indian weddings, The result is the unraveling of the secrets and bizarre traditions that plague the ultra-wealthy family. The film will be released on Amazon Prime Video this Friday, competing with the TV adaptation of the Commando movie series on Disney+ Hotstar. And The Curse of Jengaburu, a climate thriller that seeks to spark a conversation about how human greed and the exploitation of natural resources have deadly consequences.

“Made in Heaven” Season 2

In just half a year, our returning Tara Khanna (Sobhita Dhulipala) and Karan Mehra (Arjun Mathur) Mathur) duo have successfully planned eight grand weddings, although they have not been able to reap huge profits. In their quest to find bigger, more plentiful fish to fry, they never expected things to get complicated for the couple, who have a bit of a tussle trying to find the balance where ancient customs and modern aspirations can meet. While every wedding starts off on a hilarious note — almost comedic — fiancés hire other people to write vows and plan huge weddings. Balatsand opted for a quirky Mughal-themed marriage, the cracks beneath those smiles slowly began to show.
Season 2 of “Made in Heaven” focuses on the female perspective of these weddings, with abuse, mistrust and divorce at its core themes – and a key sequence has wedding expert Tara suing her ex-husband Adil (Jim Sarbu) ), to win. She thinks she deserves a reconciliation. Co-creators Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti confirmed that it also leans towards the LGBTQ+ side, going beyond closeted gay man Karan and surveying couples who were asked not to “flaunt” their sexuality. The new chapter also stars Shashank Arora (Neeyat), Shivani Raghuvanshi, Radhika Apte (Sacred Games), Kalki Koechlin (Gully Boy) and Nattasha Singh.
Commando

A TV show based on the “Commando” series of movies without Vidit Jamwal in the lead role feels weird, and that’s a sentiment shared by many fans. The anchor didn’t reveal much about the new series, other than calling it “action-packed” and adding debutant Prem Parrijaa as the lead actor, although the original film follows a Very simple plot, the titular commando gets involved in various life threatening incidents. The objective of the mission is to protect India from any attack. Adah Sharma played encounter specialist Bhavna Reddy in those films, and she’s reprising the role in the upcoming web series.
Murder in the Building Season 3

I’m glad this one wasn’t postponed because I’m delighted to see Meryl Streep deliver another fantastic performance, this time as a bumbling stage actress suspected of murder. The third season of Murder in the Building begins with an investigation into the on-stage death of Ben Glenroy (Paul Rudd), who had made numerous enemies in the troupe before, opening the door for our true crime-loving podcast group Mabel ( Selena Gomez) adds to the stakes. Charles (Steve Martin) and Oliver (Martin Short). To make matters worse, the lead actor’s death puts a damper on Oliver’s Broadway play, causing them to have to solve the mystery fast enough to get the show back on track.
The new season’s cast ranges from Ashley Parker (“Emily in Paris”) as TikTok-obsessed Kimberly to Jesse Williams (“The Cabin in the Woods”) as an intrusive documentary director. There’s a lot to unpack here, from dance and music performances, to collapsing theaters, to Charles and Oliver’s struggles in Gen Z terminology. The first two episodes are live now, with the remaining eight episodes airing every Tuesday after release.

Set in whimsical pastels of cotton candy pink and purple, “Strange Planet” follows a group of blue, lanky creatures who explore the absurdity of human life through literal, deadpan humor, like describing coffee as “jitter fluid.” ’ ’ or trying to understand the concept behind smashing houses with confetti in the name of celebration. If the title sounds familiar to you, it’s because you’ve probably seen these mini-comics on Nathan W. Pyle’s Instagram account, which look at human behavior from the perspective of what aliens might find useful. How strange.
An animated series can only enhance the experience of comic panels, and Pyle seems to have chosen the right partner to deliver them – Dan Harmon, best known for co-creating the Rick and Morty franchise. The first three episodes of Strange Planet are now available on Apple TV+, with new episodes every Wednesday until September 27.
